Product Review – Quaker Overnight Oats Toasted Coconut & Almond

I received this product Free from Influenster to test and review. It was easy to prepare, but so is regular oatmeal. I thought I would love it, but honestly, the milk didn’t steep as well as expected, and the flavour wasn’t as good as I’d hoped. The price point is quite high too. I didn’t really like it much at all unfortunately. I would give it 2 out of 5.

Product Review – Le Petit Marseillais Mandarin & Lime Extra Gentle Shower Gel

I received this body wash Free from Influenster to test and review. I am not one to be partial to a body wash, but I was surprised by how much I actually liked this! It promised to wash off easily, and it actually did! I noticed my skin felt softer too! The scent was nice, I always love mandarin. It was light and refreshing. I am sensitive to smells and this was fine for me. I can’t speak to the packaging, as they only sent these foil packs, but I do like how they personalized the advertisement by using my 1st name. I will definitely consider this brand next time I’m shopping for body wash. I would rate this a 3.8 out of 5.

TV Show Review – Last Man on Earth – 4.3/5

It has been a while since I’ve done a TV Show review! Mostly I’m watching my usuals, Survivor and Big Brother, etc., but this show really caught my attention and I don’t think it’s as well-known as it deserves to be, so I wanted to share it with you!

The premise: In 2022, a cataclysm strikes Earth, seemingly wiping out the population, except for former family man and bank employee Phil Miller. Sad and very lonely, Phil travels the United States, Canada and Mexico in his RV searching for other survivors. Striving to hold onto hope that there is at least one other living person, he tries to make the best of circumstances until his path finally crosses with that hoped-for other survivor — and all becomes more comforting that the person happens to be a woman. As more survivors turn up, complications arise and Phil finds it difficult to co-exist with others again.

Will Forte stars as the main character, Phil Miller, and has a wonderful comedic delivery that he brings to the character and series. The rest of the cast are wonderful too! This show is the epitome of the end-of-the-world concept, where everyone is being taken out by a virus, so the rest of the world remains intact to act as a playground for the few survivors. They also find themselves in plenty of predicaments.

The show has a 4 star rating on Rotten Tomatoes, and a 95% liking on Google. Unfortunately, it has not been scheduled to return for a 5th season, although I do believe its popularity is gaining since it has been airing on Netflix. I seriously love this show, and I know you will too! I would rate this show a 4.3 out of 5! Make sure you check it out!

Movie Review – The Martian

Matt Damon really made this entire movie. It was well done, with a good story. The visuals are intersting, and it’s always fun to consider what life will be like as we start to colonize other planets. It also sparked my interest in horticulture! I couldn’t imagine being left to colonize a planet on my own. I like Mark Watleys humour and spunk. The character was very loveable and easy to relate to. Somebody you would want to go back to rescue for sure! A good film for anyone to watch! I would rate this film a 8.0 out of 10.

TV Review – The Bachelorette 2015

Oh Kaitlyn… You have so many great guys there and you have to bring back a guy into your season like Nick! It seems unfair that she had chemistry with Nick prior to the show, and then brings him on. Maybe she shouldn’t have accepted to be the new bachelorette and just dated Nick! Needless to say, I’ll be disappointed if he isn’t out of there soon… And I’ll be REALLY disappointed if she ends up with him. We all know where that will get her.. Like where Andi got with Josh, ending up in tears broken hearted and let down! (Andi was attracted to the assholes!) I am just praying Shawn gets the chance he deserves, their chemistry is unreal! She has so many wonderful guys there, it seems like they tossed Nick in just for the extra TV drama. I’m hoping so, and hoping she doesn’t end up broken hearted! Kaitlyn is a sweetie and I’m wishing her all the best and wishing her so much love!! Tune in Monday evenings to check it out! I would rate this show a 6.8 out of 10. If your a sucker for love and romance, and a little drama, this show is for you!

Movie Review – Mad Max Fury Road

I’ll start out by saying how fun and entertaining this film is. The characters are brought to life by A list celebs Tom Hardy and Charlize Theron, who as you can expect, do not disappoint. My one criticism would be that it was the same visuals all the way through. Like the movie Gravity, I just feel like they need to work in some back story or ways to show different scenery and bring other feelings and emotions to the movie. It just seems to get boring or dull when they are doing the same thing throughout the whole film. Other than that, it was  visually stunning and creative. A movie men and women will both enjoy for some entertainment! A good date night movie for sure! I would rate this film a 7.8 out of 10.

Movie Review – Fifty Shades of Grey

I am quite a shy person by nature, one of the reasons this movie got put off for so long.. Also because my boyfriend refused to watch it with me! I am not sure why.. I haven’t read these books, so I wouldn’t be able to make a comparison or base my feelings on this movie having read the novel. Some people have said it doesn’t live up to the novel, which is generally the case in most movies adapted from novels. I finally got a chance to watch it this weekend. As a newcomer to the series, I thought it was a well done movie. It held my attention throughout, the actors were believable enough, it had just enough sex scenes without over doing it or under doing it, and the love story captured my heart. It was much more romantic to me than I expected it was going to be. I guess I’m a sucker for romantic shows!!! (See my review of the new season of The Bachelorette coming up!!) I thought it was a perfect date night or girls night movie!! I read articles that Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson weren’t happy with the film, but I thought their on screen chemistry was great! I am a new fan of both of them! Although it has quite low ratings on other sites, I feel this movie deserves a 6.8 out of 10. If you want to watch some romance and a little heated sexual content, this movie is for you!

2014 in Review – So proud of my blog!

I am so proud of how far my photography and blog has come this past year. I know someone is guiding me to put my work out there! Although my stats could probably be a little better, and I could probably post a little more frequently, I am still beyond proud of my work, and so proud of all the different countries where people are viewing my work from. If you want to check out my year in review, the link is below. Thanks everyone for viewing and following! Hoping to post some new reviews and photos soon!

The WordPress.com stats helper monkeys prepared a 2014 annual report for this blog.

Here’s an excerpt:

A San Francisco cable car holds 60 people. This blog was viewed about 1,400 times in 2014. If it were a cable car, it would take about 23 trips to carry that many people.

Movie Review – Fury

fury_movie-wide

Having recently watched the movie, American Sniper, it reminded me that I really should do a review of Fury. My boyfriend and I both agreed that Fury was a much better film between the 2. The actors were engaging and entertaining. Although it was a war movie, and I am not usually a big fan of war type movies, this one was enjoyable. The subject matter was interesting and captivating. Brad Pitt is solid as per usual. Shia LaBeouf never disappoints. Logan Lerman was definitely suitable in his role as the newbie. Michael Pena is solid in every film I have ever seen him in. Jon Bernthal is also a unique actor that brings a ton of artistic flavor to the movie, he is one of the most interesting actors, especially the character he plays in this movie. Besides the boat load of amazing and talented actors, this film depicts a true sense of honor and pride, strength and courage. I would rate this film a 8.2 out of 10. This blog is just my opinion!

Movie Review – The Skeleton Twins

/home/wpcom/public_html/wp-content/blogs.dir/06a/57027655/files/2015/01/img_1400.jpg

I’ll be honest, when I put this movie on, I had never heard of it and had no idea what it was about. Let me tell you, I truly enjoyed this movie. It was enjoyable and entertaining. The characters were lovable and believable in their roles. The story was heart wrenching and so relatable. I love anything that brings awareness to the topics of suicide and depression, and this film was so great because it was realistic, yet not too dark. I really felt the love this film captured within its story. I also appreciated the way the movie explored relationship dynamics. This film kept me entertained and interested the whole way through. I would suggest it for any adults to watch! I would rate this movie a 7.8 out of 10. This blog is just my opinion!
